As I read everyone’s complaints on Twitter and Facebook about having to cover school books, I am wallowing in self-satisfaction because I don’t really mind covering books and I do a rather nice job of it, if I do say so myself. I may have even volunteered to cover books for my children’s school library and some of the class teachers on occasions. This is done largely to provide me with an excuse for avoiding going on to the canteen roster though, so it isn’t really as selfless/noble as it sounds.

And books covered in plain wrapping paper, decorated with pictures drawn by my 9 year old daughter, and then covered with clear contact. I’ve included a close up detail of one of the drawings, just because I think my daughter is such an awesome artist.
I still have books to cover for both of my sons, but they should be reasonably straightforward with just clear contact. I’m just a little bit OCD about making sure that there aren’t any ripples or bubbles, so I’ve perfected the art of book covering over the years.
Please don’t hate me.
